Chad Johnson may love football and McDonald’s more than anything, and Marvin Harrison Jr. will have a lot to do with both of them in 2023.

Evidently, Johnson is so confident in Harrison Jr.’s abilities, that he’s willing to wager his future at McDonald’s against whether the Ohio State wide receiver wins the Heisman Trophy or not. At least that’s what he told Kevin Harrish of The Comeback.

Check out the video below, where Johnson promises to give up the iconic Golden Arches if Harrison Jr. doesn’t bring home the hardware in 2023.

“Oh my god, oh my god. The real deal. He’s going to win the Heisman this year, and I stand on that,” predicted the NFL legend. “If I’m wrong, I’ll never eat McDonald’s again.”

That’s some lofty expectations for Johnson, especially when it’s so rare to see a wide receiver win the Heisman. Nevertheless, it isn’t impossible, so Johnson’s massive bet still has a shot of coming true.

In 2022, Harrison Jr. dominated. He snagged 77 receptions for 1,263 yards and 14 touchdowns despite opposing defenses scheming against him. He was also named a unanimous All-American. Evidently, Johnson has bigger expectations for 2023.

If his prediction wasn’t already proof enough, Johnson has immense respect for the Ohio State wide receiving corps, and how they continue to rebuild after losing NFL talent year-in and year-out. According to Johnson, that has a lot to do with recruiting, and the coaching of Brian Hartline once they get to Columbus.

“It’s just, it’s more so them choosing to go to Ohio State, and them already being NFL ready before they get there,” explained Johnson. “And then obviously getting with a coach like Brian Hartline, who can fine-tune certain things in their game, to where they’re already prepared and ready, and they hit the ground running once they get to the NFL, and there’s no learning curve for them.”

Time will tell if a Heisman is in Marvin Harrison Jr.’s future, but the NFL is for sure. He’s being looked at as a top-five pick with the potential to go first overall, which we haven’t seen from a wide receiver in a number of years.

There’s a ton of wide receiving talent in the NFL who cut their teeth at Ohio State, but Marvin Harrison Jr. may be the best of the best, and Chad Johnson is betting his Mickie D’s on that fact this season.
