Ohio State RB Chip Trayanum enters NCAA transfer portal

Ohio State running back Chip Trayanum has entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned. He made the move to linebacker when he arrived from Arizona State in 2022 before making the move back to running back due to depth issues.

Trayanum had an impressive year in 2023. He totaled 373 yards and three touchdowns as he finished second on the Ohio State roster in rushing. One of those touchdowns came in a key matchup at Notre Dame as he scored the game-winner at the buzzer to stun the Fighting Irish in September.

Chip Trayanum started the 2022 season as a linebacker, but made the switch back to running back mid-year. He then entered the 2023 season third on the depth chart, but saw plenty of game action due to injuries to TreVeyon Henderson and Miyan Williams.

Trayanum played high school football at Archbishop Hoban (OH) High School, where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 285 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
