Chris Holtmann revealed the status of two Ohio State stars for its Big Ten showdown against Michigan on Sunday. Prior to tip-off, Holtmann stated that Kyle Young is doubtful for Sunday’s game, while Zed Key is a game-time decision.

“Ohio State’s Kyle Young (illness) is doubtful for today’s game against Michigan, per Chris Holtmann,” tweeted CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein. “Zed Key (ankle) is a game-time decision. Both DNP in last game. Young averages 8.2 PPG and 4.9 RPG.Key averages 8.3 PPG and 5.4 RPG.”

Moreover, Young played just eight minutes in the last game he played — Ohio State‘s last loss, Tuesday against Nebraska. After averaging 22 minutes per game throughout the season, Young was used sparingly in the loss. After missing the Buckeyes’ rebound against Michigan State on Thursday, Young will miss the team’s final game of the season against Michigan.

Continuing, forward Zed Key has been held out of the lineup since playing 11 minutes against Maryland on February 27th. On the season, the forward is averaging 8.3 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. His status for Sunday’s game against Michigan is more promising, but we’ll see if he suits up for the Buckeyes.

On Sunday, Ohio State is looking to improve their tournament chances with a victory over Michigan. With the game taking place on their home court, it would be demoralizing for the Buckeyes to suffer a defeat in their regular season finale.

Ohio State: EJ Liddell calls out Joey Brunk for lying in answer about favorite moment

Moreover, Joey Brunk registered his best performance since joining Ohio State‘s program on Thursday night in the Buckeyes’ 80-69 win over Michigan State. Putting up 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting and grabbing six rebounds, Brunk – who came into the game averaging just over one point per outing – played a big role in an important game for his team.

While Brunk – who has played at Butler (2016-2019), Indiana (2019-2020) and Ohio State over the course of his collegiate career – was playing at a high level on Thursday, he made some explosive plays – highlighted by a big dunk.

While Brunk threw down the dunk against Michigan State, he was asked during the postgame press conference if that was his favorite moment of the night – but he claimed that it wasn’t.

“My favorite moment was when the clock ran out and we were celebrating as a team,” Brunk said. “That was my favorite part.”

Although Brunk said that his dunk wasn’t his favorite moment from the game, his teammate – EJ Liddell – chimed in and said that Brunk wasn’t telling the truth.

“He’s lying,” Liddell said with a laugh. “It was definitely the dunk.”
