CJ Stroud uncertain on Ohio State future after loss
Ohio State now finds its postseason future in question after falling to Michigan in The Game on Saturday. The Buckeyes could, somehow, find their way into the College Football Playoff, but would be looking at a Rose Bowl appearance if they miss out.
That then begs the question of whether or not C.J. Stroud would play in a non-CFP bowl game. In the postgame press conference on Saturday, he didn’t sound certain on what he’d decide to do.
“I’ll have to take it up to consideration whatever happens,” Stroud said. “I don’t know, I can’t give you a final answer on whatever happens. It all has to happen over these next couple of weeks. I don’t have the immediate answer for that question.”

Stroud had a solid day for Ohio State on Saturday, completing 31 of 48 passes for 349 yards and two touchdowns, but also threw two interceptions as Michigan walked away with the 45-23 victory. Now, Ohio State will wait and see how the final CFP rankings shake out with conference championships coming up next week.

If that was Stroud’s last time playing in The Horseshoe, he went out feeling grateful for the journey.
“I don’t know if this is my last time playing in The Shoe, man, but I’ve enjoyed every second I’ve gotten in there,” Stroud said. “Came along way, man, from my first game playing in The Shoe, being booed. Everybody not saying very nice things about me. I think I’ve earned everybody’s respect as time has gone on, and I think I’ve fallen in love with Columbus, Ohio, and Buckeye Nation. I’ve enjoyed every second of it.
“A lot of ups, a lot of downs, man. But I appreciate everybody that comes and supports every game. I don’t think one game define us, I don’t think that this game defines this team. I would take this team over anybody in the country every week, man. I’m blessed to be a part of this fraternity and this brotherhood.”
