4-star RB DeJuan Williams sets Ohio State visit
Baltimore (Md.) St. Frances Academy four-star running back DeJuan Williams is visiting Ohio State this weekend for the Buckeyes’ spring game. He announced the news Tuesday on Twitter.
Williams is the No. 344 overall prospect and No. 30 running back in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 13 player in Maryland.
The 5-foot-10.5, 195-pound tailback last visited Ohio State on the weekend of March 25. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Penn State has a close lead for his commitment at 42.3%.
At the moment, the Buckeyes’ 2024 recruiting class is No. 3 in the 2024 On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 1 in the Big Ten. It contains one running back in San Antonio (Texas) Veterans Memorial four-star James Peoples.
Ohio State did not sign a running back in the 2023 cycle, so there is a chance that the Buckeyes will take multiple tailbacks this cycle. Other running backs they are recruiting in addition to Williams include Pickerington (Ohio) Pickerington North three-star Sam Williams-Dixon.
Williams is also interested in other Big Ten programs
In the fall, Williams discussed his high interest in Penn State with On3’s Chad Simmons. He visited State College three times between July and October.
“The fans,” Williams told Simmons on Sept. 20 about why he is interested in the Nittany Lions. “The players. They have great talent on that team and I like how they play the running backs. The freshmen, they get a lot of playing time.”

Williams made it to two Penn State games last season. One of them was Nittany Lions’ 46-10 win over Ohio.
“That environment was wild,” Williams said. “It was out of this world. They hold 107,000 fans so like, you could see the student section to my left and the whole crowd to my right. It was crazy, loud.”
Williams also visited Michigan earlier this year. Per his comments to EJ Holland of The Wolverine, the four-star was impressed with the Wolverines’ track record of sending players to the league, their facility and weight room and the overall environment around the program.
The success of Blake Corum also stood out to him. Corum played high school football at St. Frances Academy before heading to Ann Arbor.
“When Coach (Mike) Hart came, he stayed and he’s done great there,” Williams said on Feb. 15. “That means a lot to me. I feel like I can be the next Blake Corum and be up for a Heisman as well.”
