COLUMBUS — One of the top prospects in the 2024 class was on-campus Monday for Ohio State’s one-day camp.

Washington (D.C.) Friendship Collegiate EDGE Dylan Stewart visited Columbus for the first time after the Buckeyes offered the standout defensive end back in January. Stewart was “happy and excited” when Ohio State offered him, but also said he knew more was to come.

Stewart, a 6-foot-5, 235-pounder, is the nation’s No. 4 prospect and top EDGE recruit according to the 2024 On300. He also ranks as a four-star in the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Stewart spent most of the morning working with Ohio State defensive line coach Larry Johnson, and said the Buckeyes coaching staff sees him at EDGE. He even mentioned that the Buckeyes could see him playing the Chase Young-type role. Young was a Heisman Trophy finalist in 2019.

In addition to the Buckeyes, Stewart holds offers from numerous Power 5 schools including Alabama, Georgia, Notre Damealso picking up a recent offer from Big Ten rival Michigan.

Dylan Stewart Scouting Summary

On3 Director of Scouting Charles Power wrote the following on Dylan Stewart as a prospect:

Disruptive pass rusher who looks to be one of the top EDGE prospects early on in the 2024 cycle. Shows a quick first step. Fires off the ball with the ability to quickly redirect with lateral agility. Dips and bends around the edge, showing some encouraging flexibility and curvilinear movement. Also plays low and gets underneath the pads of opposing offensive linemen. Has good size and stature checking in at 6-foot-4.5, 211 pounds with a 81-inch wing-span prior to his junior season. Will need to continue progressing from a strength and technical perspective as he continues through his high school career.
