Early odds, points spreads released for three Ohio State football games
The Ohio State Buckeyes are coming off of their second straight 11-win season, as they’ve inched closer and closer to their national title glory from 2014. Head coach Ryan Day enters his fifth full season as the Buckeyes’ head coach, and with that presents a new set of challenges.
From replacing star quarterback CJ Stroud who’s declared for the NFL Draft to managing a new offensive coordinator in Bryan Hartline, there’s no question that there are some big question marks for the Buckeyes entering the 2023 season.
With all of that in mind, FanDuel has released the early odds and point spreads for three of Ohio State’s biggest games of the season, as they’ll face Notre Dame for a second year in a row and Big Ten east rivals Penn State and Michigan per usual. Check out the Buckeyes’ early odds below.
Odds, point spreads for 3 marquee Ohio State games per FanDuel Sportsbook:
Ohio State Buckeyes at Notre Dame (-7.5) | Sept. 23
Ohio State Buckeyes vs Penn State (-7) | Oct. 21
Ohio State Buckeyes at Michigan Wolverines (+1) | Nov. 18
The Buckeyes faced Notre Dame in their season opener last season, but will not face them till Week 4 in 2023. This year they’ll face head coach Marcus Freeman and his squad at their house in South Bend. Last years matchup was highlighted by one of the strongest defensive performances by the Buckeyes all season. Notre Dame ended the game with just 10 points, 253 total yards of offense, and three third down conversions, and it will be interesting to see if the Buckeyes’ D can do it again this year.

Ohio State is favored against Notre Dame as well as Penn State, as the Buckeyes and Nittany Lions provided fans with one of the most electrifying games in the Big Ten last time they squared off. It was a 44-31 shootout that the Buckeyes won on the road, highlighted by the monster defensive performance by EDGE JT Tuimoloau. It was the best game of the season for Tuimoloau, as well as wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. who ended the day with 10 catches for 185 yards. Which begs the question, do Harrison and Tuimoloau wreak havoc on the Nittany Lions once again this season?
The only game the Buckeyes aren’t favored in is against rival Michigan, who’s gotten the best of the Buckeyes in the season finale for two consecutive seasons. The Wolverines have stood in the way of the Buckeyes’ Big Ten Championship aspirations for two years in a row now, as the Buckeyes will look for redemption in Michigan Stadium in ‘The Game’.
