Elite 2024 CB Aaron Scott Jr. commits to Ohio State
Elite 2024 cornerback Aaron Scott Jr. of Springfield (OH) High announced his commitment to Ohio State Sunday afternoon.
The 6-foot-1, 180 pounder chose the Buckeyes over Michigan and Oregon.
Scott on why he chose Ohio State
“Knowing how much love the school showed and being from ohio meant a lot to me. Ryan Day makes it clear I’m his guy he wants, and he will make sure I’m in good hands. Bryce West also played a factor, I been saying I wanted to play with him and we are both from Ohio so why not be the duo from Ohio to make it out!”
Relationship with coaching staff + their plan for him
“Coach Walton, that’s my guy, he checks up on me everyday and we sit and talk about not just football but life outside of football. My parents feel very comfortable with him to where they know they can call at any time and knowing my parents feel that way about him makes my decision easier I feel. They plan on having me play boundary outside corner and getting to really play a lot of man and letting me do what I’m best at.”
Scouting Summary
“Coordinated corner with some of the best film and ball skills at the position in 2024. Measured in at a shade over 6-feet and around 180 pounds at Under Armour’s Ohio camp prior to his senior season. Has good length for the position. Tacked on solid weight over the course of his junior year. Tests as a good athlete in the combine setting. Showed good speed in his junior track season, running a personal best of 11.05 seconds in the 100 meters. A standout corner on Friday nights who gives up very little through the air. Does a phenomenal job of playing through receivers’ hands. Has high level ball production, with 5 interceptions and 7 pass breakups as a junior. Uses his length and coordination to make plays on the football at a high rate. Shows good coverage instincts overall, particularly when defending vertical routes. Can improve his trigger and break on the ball. One of the younger prospects in the 2024 recruiting cycle, turning 18 years-old in the summer prior to his freshman year of college.”
