TreVeyon Henderson will be available for Ohio State during the Buckeyes’ Big 10 opener against Wisconsin Saturday night, ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg reports. Henderson was seen in a walking boot following OSU’s victory over Toledo last week.

Henderson scored a touchdown early in the first quarter last week, but that was all the production he was allowed before the injury occurred. He walked himself back to the locker room and was on the sideline by the end of the game, a good sign that he would be able to suit up this week.

Henderson has been nearly unstoppable for Ohio State this season, despite only having a major contribution in two games. In 29 carries, the running back has 197 yards and three touchdowns — good enough for the second most rushing yards on the team. Only Miyan Williams has more, going for 207 on 32 carries.

Ryan Day expects TreVeyon Henderson to be available for Ohio State in Week 4

Early in Ohio State‘s blowout win over Toldeo, running back TreVeyon Henderson left the game with what seemed to be a leg injury. He eventually emerged from the locker room in a walking boot and after the game, head coach Ryan Day said the move was precautionary.

Now, the Buckeyes have a different type of opponent on the schedule, beginning Big Ten play on Saturday. The Wisconsin Badgers will be in town and Henderson figures to be a huge part of the game plan for Day, if healthy.

Day provided an update on his star running back during Tuesday’s press conference, saying he expected Henderson to be available vs. Wisconsin. A major boost for the Ohio State offense before the conference showdown.

“Just a short-term thing,” Day said. “We’re expecting to have him for Saturday.”

Wisconsin is already proving to have one of the best rush defenses in the country, giving up just 78 yards per game. Nobody has gotten past the Badgers in three games thus far. Henderson will be hoping to change that narrative with a big-time performance on Saturday.
