Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna Prep Five-Star Plus+ wide receiver Jeremiah Smith has long been heralded as the No. 1 wide receiver in the 2024 class. Now he can add another No. 1 to his portfolio.

Following the release of the latest On300 rankings, Smith is now ranked as the No. 1 player in the country according to the On3 Industry Recruiting Ranking – a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting services.

Smith jumped up one spot over Georgia quarterback Dylan Raiola.

The 6-foot-3, 198-pound pass-catcher has been committed to the Buckeyes since Dec. 14. He did take official visits to other schools in June but On3’s Chad Simmons thinks it will take a lot to flip Smith away from the Buckeyes.

“Five-Star Plus+ wide receiver Jeremiah Smith went into June committed to Ohio State and he is expected to remain a Buckeye commit as we roll into July,” Simmons wrote at the end of the month. “He did take official visits to Florida, Florida State and Miami in June and remains in contact with other staffs, but Smith will be very tough to flip from Brian Hartline and Ohio State.”

Jeremiah Smith currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $459K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Smith headlines another loaded class for Ohio State

Ohio State’s class has been built around Smith since his pledge and he remains the headliner in what looks like will be another top class for the Buckeyes.

He’s one of three five-star prospects currently committed to Ohio State. The Buckeyes landed a pledge from five-star defensive lineman Justin Scott on July 2 and fellow five-star wide receiver Mylan Graham committed to Ohio State on April 4.

Currently the Buckeyes’ 2024 class ranks as the No. 2 class in the country and No. 1 in the Big Ten with 18 pledges.

Outside of the three five-stars, 13 of the Buckeyes’ other pledges are ranked as four-star prospects.
