Former Ohio State quarterback coach Corey Dennis lands offensive analyst job at Utah

Former Ohio State quarterbacks coach Corey Dennis is apparently leaving the program and accepting a position on Utah‘s off-the-field coaching staff, according to a report from Cleveland.com.
Dennis’ contract was not renewed when the Buckeyes brought in Bill O’Brien to serve as offensive coordinator, but it was anticipated that Dennis might still stay in an off-the-field capacity for the Buckeyes. With another opportunity available, though, he is departing.
The quarterbacks coach will now take an offensive analyst position on Kyle Whittingham‘s Utah staff.
Dennis has ties to the Utah program via his father-in-law, Urban Meyer. Meyer once coached out at Utah and has maintained strong ties with Whittingham, his former defensive coordinator with the Utes.
A Georgia Tech graduate, Dennis got into coaching under Meyer at Ohio State in 2015. He served in a variety of roles with the Buckeyes over the last decade.
Initially, Dennis began as an offensive intern in 2015. In 2016 he was elevated to a graduate assistant position, a role he served in for the next two years.
After that, Dennis took a senior quality control position on offense, working in that capacity in 2018 and 2019. In 2020 he was promoted as an on-field assistant coach working with the quarterbacks.

While serving as quarterbacks coach, Dennis worked with eventual Heisman Trophy finalist and No. 2 overall NFL Draft pick CJ Stroud, who had a remarkable career with the Buckeyes.
Additionally, Dennis was named one of 247Sports’ 30 Under 30 rising coaches, earning recognition from that publication for his work at a very young age.
“Dennis has done nothing but help produce and recruit stellar quarterbacks while at Ohio State,” wrote 247Sports’ Chris Hummer. “As an offensive assistant in 2018, Dennis worked closely with Dwayne Haskins. The last two years, (he) tutored All-American Justin Fields.
“Additionally, Dennis has helped the Buckeyes to major recruiting wins. Dennis led Ohio State’s recruitment of five-star quarterback Kyle McCord and most recently played a big part in the Buckeyes beating out Texas for Lone Star State product Quinn Ewers.”
