Four-star IOL Carson Hinzman commits to Ohio State
Four-star Hammond (Wi) interior offense lineman Carson Hinzman has committed to the Ohio State University, he tells On3.
He picked Ohio State over 19 other offers, including Alabama, Wisconsin, Notre Dame, and many others. Hinzman is the buckeye’s 20th commit in the 2022 cycle.
Carson Hinzman on why he chose Ohio State
“I feel like for me it was everything outside of football like they offered like their academics and their internship opportunities that they have for the guys. I also really liked how they have such a good winning culture, and I feel like that stems from their staff, specifically their strength and speed.”
When asked about his relationships with the coaches and how he sees himself fitting into the offense he said this.
“Yeah, I really respect coach Stud and his way of tough coaching. Right now his message to me had been that “They only carry 7 offensive linemen in the NFL” so therefore I’m going to have to know every position, so I’m not sure yet but I’m guessing interior”

Hinzman will join the buckeyes No. 4 recruiting class according to the 2022 Consensus Football Team Recruiting Rankings. He will enter Ohio State’s offensive line class of Tegra Tshbola, George Fitzpatrick, and Avery Henry.
In the last 5 years, seven IOL have been drafted to the NFL from Ohio State, the most out of any school in the country.
The 6-foot-4, 269-pound interior offensive lineman ranks as the second-best player in Wisconsin according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. Hinzman ranks No. 120 overall and 11th for interior offensive lineman in the 2022 cycle.
