Four-star linebacker Arvell Reese of Cleveland (OH) Glenville High announced his commitment to Ohio State Saturday afternoon.

The 6-foot-4, 220 pounder chose the Buckeyes over Michigan, Alabama, Kentucky, and USC.

Reese on why he chose Ohio State

“What stood out about Ohio State the most was how I felt at home everytime I visited there,” Reese said. “When I first got to Glenville, Coach Alford told me he was gonna make me a Buckeye and they have been recruiting me since. And also the relationship with the Coaches as well. My Mom and Dad feel the same way about the coaches, which means a lot.”

What staying home means to Arvell Reese

“Being from Ohio, almost every kid that played football growing up dreamed of playing for Ohio State,” Reese said. “I was one of those kids, so putting on for my home state is going to be big.”

Arvell Reese Scouting Summary

“One of the more physically-gifted linebacker prospects in the 2023 cycle,” On3’s Director of Scouting Charles Power wrote. “Measured at over 6-foot-3, and around 220 pounds with a 32.75-inch arm prior to his senior season. Gained around 20 pounds after the end of his junior year. Turned in multiple 4.65 second 40-yard dash times at a regional camp prior to his senior season. Played a portion of his junior year, working as a linebacker. Showed tantalizing range, athleticism and striking power in the small sample. Has the speed and athleticism to run sideline to sideline. Plants ball carriers on impact. Also has the ability to rush off the edge on passing downs.”
