Compared to previous years, Ohio State does not have the most exciting home schedule. While some quality opponents are on there, the likes of Michigan, Wisconsin, and Notre Dame will all be away from Columbus. However, Michigan State will play at the shoe and thanks to a tweet sent out on Monday, the matchup just gained a ton more interest.

The official Ohio State football Twitter account sent out a teaser, having a plain gray background with the date Nov. 11 on there. If you check the schedule, the Buckeyes and Spartans are scheduled to play at the Shoe then, setting up what will be a fun game.

Even more so for the players and fans, with many believing the tweet is signifying an alternate jersey is coming. Ohio State could opt to wear all-gray uniforms, something we have seen from the program in the past.

You can check out the tweet from the Ohio State football account here.

When thinking about Ohio State wearing the gray uniforms, the first game that comes to mind is Penn State in 2017. A famous game when Urban Meyer was still the head coach, a battle between Trace McSorley and JT Barrett took place in front of the Buckeye faithful. Saquon Barkley put on quite the performance as well.

Ohio State wound up on the winning end as Barrett connected with Marcus Baugh with under two minutes remaining in the game, sending Ohio Stadium into a frenzy. Quite the memory to have in an alternate jersey.

Now, there is an opportunity for another memory to be made but with Ryan Day on the sideline. If Ohio State does bring out the gray uniforms against Michigan State, it will be a fun twist late in the season. Especially if they are fighting for the College Football Playoff — more sparks will be added to what should be an electric atmosphere at Ohio Stadium.

Based on recent history, you would count on the Buckeyes to get a win too. Not only are they a great home team but Michigan State has struggled there in recent years. Three consecutive matchups in Columbus have resulted in Ohio State wins.

Making it four in a row against the Spartans would put the gray uniforms 2-0 in their last two appearances. Continued success in them and Ohio State may have to bring them out again before five years pass.
