Ohio State infielder Henry Kaczmar enters NCAA transfer portal

Ohio State infielder Henry Kaczmar entered the NCAA transfer portal, according to On3’s Pete Nakos. He spent two years with the program.

Kaczmar was the second Ohio State player to enter the portal Tuesday after catcher Matthew Graveline. Kaczmar was also on the 2023 Big Ten All-Freshman team.

In 55 games this past season, he hit a .320 average, had seven home runs, 36 RBI and 72 hits. Overall, Kaczmar has a .307 batting average in two seasons, 14 home runs, 82 RBI and 133 hits.

Henry Kaczmar second Ohio State player to enter portal

Kaczmar joined teammate Matthew Graveline in the transfer portal Tuesday.

Graveline made the Big Ten All-Freshman Team in 2023 and was an Ohio State scholar athlete the same year. He started 49 of 50 games as a freshman.

That year, he hit a .287 batting average, four home runs, 35 RBI and had 56 hits. In 2024 to follow up, Graveline had a .281 average, five home runs, 25 RBI and 56 hits once again.

Just last week, Ohio State baseball saw a coaching change with Bill Mosiello resigning as Buckeyes’ head coach. 

“Bill Mosiello, head coach of the Ohio State baseball team for the last two years, has announced his resignation. Mosiello will be pursuing other professional opportunities,” a release read.

Executive Associate AD Shaun Richard also released a statement.

“We want to thank Bill for his time as a Buckeye and wish him well with his new adventures,” Richard said. “I’m looking forward to the process of finding the next leader that will take this program to the next level.”
