Kennedy Cambridge injury update: Ohio State guard leaves game after gruesome injury

Ohio State guard Kennedy Cambridge was down on the floor for a minute on Sunday in their women’s college basketball game against Maryland. It was late in the second half of a heated battle. Cambridge was eventually tended to by trainers and medical staff, before being carried off the floor in College Park, Maryland.
Before leaving the game, Cambridge had nine points, six rebounds, three steals, and two blocks. Maryland prevailed in overtime, after Sarah Te-Biasu drilled a three-pointer with one second left. She lifted the ‘Terps to a 93-90 victory on Sunday.
Ohio State had five scorers in double figures, Taylor Thierry (21 points), Ajae Petty (12 points), Cotie McMahon (18 points), Jaloni Cambridge (10 points), and Madison Greene (12 points). Maryland had five scorers in double figures: Allie Kubek (17 points), Sarah Te-Biasu (15 points), Kaylene Smikle (26 points), and Shyanne Sellers (21 points).
Sellers was actually injured herself, but would later return to the game. She finished with 21 points, one rebound, and eight assists. She connected on 6 of 11 shots from the field.

Ohio State connected on 7 of their 20 three-point attempts (35%). The Buckeyes also hit 32 of their 64 shots from the field (50.0%). They hit 19 of 25 free throws on Sunday, too. There were a lot of fouls dished out in this one, as both Maryland and OSU had 24 fouls each. Things got a bit chippy at one point, but calm heads prevailed.
No. 12 Ohio State dropped to 24-5 overall and 13-5 in the Big Ten. No. 19 Maryland, they improved to 23-6 overall and 13-5 in the Big Ten. Both teams will now get ready for the Big Ten Tournament, where OSU will face the Game 7 winner in Game 11 on Friday. That one will be televised on the Big Ten Network.
Maryland will face the Game 5 winner in Game 9 on Friday in the Big Ten Tournament. That one will also be on the Big Ten Network.
