Kirk Herbstreit marvels at incredible Kamryn Babb moment in Ohio State win
Kirk Herbstreit was smitten with one of the best moments of Saturday’s slate, as Kamryn Babb found the end zone for Ohio State.
Babb has dealt with a slew of injuries throughout his career, but has got back up every time he’s been knocked down. Finally, he caught his first career touchdown against Indiana on Saturday, and Herbstreit took to Twitter to marvel at the moment.

“In all my years of being around @OhioStateFB, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a story like @kamm_o,” wrote Herbstreit. “Knee injuries ended his ‘18 & ‘19 seasons. Voted captain in ‘21. Missed that year as well with another knee. Back this year & hurt his knee again!
“Persevered! Adored by his teammates. Special moment!”
Of course, the moment is one that warms the heart of Ohio State — and college football — fans everywhere. After the victory and watching a wide receiver who’s overcome so much injury adversity get his moment, Buckeyes head coach Ryan Day was borderline emotional explaining what it means.
“Well, I think in today’s day and age in college football, there’s so many things that go on. To see somebody who’s over come four ACLs, to come back and get a touchdown pass in a stadium like this, it just says so much about who he is as a person and you can see what he means to our team,” added Day, speaking with FOX’s Jenny Taft.
The accolades may come later in the season for the Buckeyes, but arguably the best and most personal moment of their season happened on Saturday against Indiana.

After some big changes in Week 10, Hebrstreit kept five of his six teams from last week in this week’s rankings, removing the Oregon Ducks after their loss on Saturday. Here’s who the ESPN College GameDay analyst chose as the best of the best as the college football season at the moment.
Top four, next two out per Kirk Herbstreit:
1) Georgia Bulldogs
2) Ohio State Buckeyes
3) Michigan Wolverines
4) TCU Horned Frogs
Next 2: Tennessee Volunteers; LSU Tigers
As you can see, Herbstreit kept his top three the same — Georgia on top, followed by the Big Ten powers of Ohio State and Michigan. However, Oregon slotted in at No. 4 last weekend, and now they’re dropped from the rankings all together.
Jumping into Herbstreit’s Top 4 are the TCU Horned Frogs, who remained undefeated after a huge victory over Texas. Tennessee remained in the picture with another victory, while LSU jumped into the ESPN analyst’s top six with a victory over Arkansas.
Moving forward, there are some huge games on the horizon, and Kirk Herbstreit will be forced to make some adjustments to his rankings. Time will tell how different things look at the end of the season, but it’s indisputable that the ride to the College Football Playoff will be exhilarating.
