LOOK: Ohio State head coach Ryan Day in Georgia for high school football game
Ohio State is on its bye week after starting the 2022 season with a 6-0 record. During the break, head coach Ryan Day decided to hit the recruiting trail.
Day is in Georgia for a Friday night matchup between Buford (Ga.) and Norcross (Ga.) Mill Creek. The game is headlined by two of the 2023 class’ top players: Buford four-star running back and Alabama commit Justice Haynes and Mill Creek five-star safety and Alabama commit Caleb Downs.
Other talented prospects are on the field as well. Buford five-star safety KJ Bolden, the No. 4 overall prospect in the 2024 On3 Consensus, has received an offer from the Buckeyes.

Ohio State’s 2023 recruiting class is currently No. 3 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 1 in the Big Ten. The Buckeyes’ highest-ranked prospect is Miami Gardens (Fla.) American Heritage five-star wide receiver Brandon Inniss, the No. 19 overall prospect in the 2023 On3 Consensus.
Meanwhile, Ohio State’s 2024 class contains only one commitment. However, the pledge is from Chandler (Ariz.) five-star quarterback Dylan Raiola, the No. 1 overall prospect in the On3 Consensus.
