Ohio State receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. went down with an injury late in the second quarter against Indiana on Saturday. Harrison went up to grab a pass and landed hard on his left shoulder and appeared to grab at it as he went to the sideline.

Thankfully, all appeared to be fine with the Buckeyes star wideout as he returned to the field just a few plays later on the same drive. Coach Ryan Day addressed the injury scare during a halftime interview, confirming that all is well with Harrison.

“He’s fine,” Day said. “He went back in and he should be fine.”

Harrison finished the first half with a pair of catches for 18 yards as Ohio State entered the locker room clinging to a 10-3 lead. He is expected to play a major role in the offense this season and was named an All-American after recording 77 catches for 1,263 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2022.

With Marvin Harrison Jr. ready to go for the second half after the injury scare, Ohio State will hope to get things going on offense following a slow start to the game. Speaking at halftime, Day offered his thoughts on what the Buckeyes must do to pull away and come out with a win.

Ryan Day says Ohio State must do better on short-yardage situations

The Buckeyes scored a touchdown on their opening drive but struggled to keep things going after that, throwing an interception and having to settle for a field goal just before the end of the first half.

Speaking with CBS’s Jenny Dell, Day commended his defense’s effort but stressed that the offense has to do a better job of converting in short-yardage situations. Ohio State ended the half just 1-of-6 (16.7%) on its third-down conversions and 1-of-2 on fourth down.

“I think we’re playing well on defense,” Day said. “We need to do a better job converting third-and-short on offense. Some things here and there. A couple of penalties threw us off. I like the way we’re coming off the ball, but we’ve gotta be able to convert on short yardage and keep drives going.”

Buckeyes quarterback Kyle McCord finished the first half 10-of-16 passing for 94 yards and an interception. The Buckeyes found some success running the football, recording 78 yards rushing as Miyan Williams has the lone touchdown of the game so far.

“We’re getting some decent movement running the ball but we’ve gotta be able to convert on short yardage,” Day said.
