Marvin Harrison Jr. shares excitement for next year's Ohio State team
Marvin Harrison Jr. will still be wearing red next season but not for Ohio State. Instead, he’s going to suit up for the Arizona Cardinals after being the No. 4 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Harrison was the first non-quarterback selected and will now work with Kyler Murray, hoping to bring some wins back to the desert.
He’s hoping for Ohio State to have a great 2024 season too, one filled with a ton of expectations. Harrison shared his excitement for the squad, one with a lot of former teammates on it.
As usual, beating Michigan is priority No. 1 for Ohio State — something Harrison himself never got to do. But from then, getting into the College Football Playoff and winning the national championship is where expectations lie.
“Super happy for them,” Harrison said about his former teammates ahead of the NFL Draft. “Hope they go on and accomplish all their goals as a team. I’m sure they want to beat the Team Up North, like every year. And then win a national championship. So, I’m going to be rooting for them from where I’m at.”
Harrison never beat Michigan but did have a chance to compete for a national championship. Many Ohio State fans argue if he were not removed from the Georgia game due to an injury, the Buckeyes would have gone on to win the game. And then TCU was there waiting in the title game, a contest Georgia dominated from start to finish.

Michigan prepared to offer No. 1 recruit $10.5M over 4 years
Unfortunately, the now-Arizona Cardinals wide receiver will have to become a fan himself and watch Ohio State from afar. Luckily, the upcoming team is expected to be a pretty good one.
Preseason polls will be released later in the calendar but Ohio State is likely going to get a ton of consideration for the No. 1 spot. Head coach Ryan Day has continually recruited at a high level and filled a few holes this offseason through the NCAA transfer portal. Star players such as Caleb Downs and Quinshon Judkins will play for the Buckeyes in 2024.
Maybe there is even a chance Harrison gets to watch Ohio State play in his new home, State Farm Stadium. The Fiesta Bowl will take place on New Year’s Eve and a College Football Playoff quarterfinal will take place.
Ohio State certainly expects to still be alive in the national championship race by the New Year.
