4-star TE Max LeBlanc commits to Ohio State Buckeyes: 'I’m really excited about this class'
Chattanooga (Tenn.) Baylor four-star tight end Max LeBlanc was waiting for his spring visits to happen before making any decisions on where he’d commit. While he had an idea on which schools he’d pick from, LeBlanc had no idea which of the four was the front-runner.
That all changed following his last visit to Ohio State at the end of March. LeBlanc visited Columbus and that trip answered any questions he may have had as he announced his commitment to the Buckeyes over Michigan, North Carolina and Tennessee Saturday afternoon.
“I just had a great feeling in general whenever I stepped on campus,” LeBlanc told On3. “Ohio State’s been my dream school since I started playing football so when I got the offer, it was a big deal for me. Meeting the players, the coaches and seeing how they are in practice and my relationship with the current players, it was just awesome when I was there.”
The moment the 6-foot-5, 225-pounder stepped on campus, LeBlanc said that the Buckeyes coaching staff made him and his parents feel like a priority. Ohio State head coach Ryan Day and tight ends coach Keenan Bailey each have built relationships with LeBlanc that he says helped make his decision easier.
On top of the relationships, Ohio State runs a similar offense to what LeBlanc is used to in high school and style he feels will give him the best chance to succeed at the next level.
“I think their offense is exactly what I’m doing now at Baylor,” said LeBlanc, the No. 276 overall prospect and No. 16 tight end in the 2024 On3 Industry Ranking. “Coach Bailey told me what he sees me like at the next level and I think it’s exactly what I want to do.”
LeBlanc’s commitment another win for the Buckeyes
Arguably no team has been as hot on the recruiting trail over the last month and a half like Ohio State.

The Buckeyes entered 2023 with three commitments including Five-Star Plus+ wide receiver Jeremiah Smith. However, since the beginning of March, they’ve gone from three commitments to 11.
April has been the Buckeyes strongest month on the trail. Aside from LeBlanc, Ohio State’s landed commitments from five-star wide receiver Mylan Graham, four-star quarterback Air Noland, four-star running back James Peoples and four-star linebacker Payton Pierce over the last two weeks.
The Buckeyes currently sit with the No. 3 class in the country and a class that LeBlanc is ready to get more acquainted with.
“I’m really excited about this class,” LeBlanc said. “I can’t wait to meet all of the guys so we can build that relationship.”
