Garrett Wilson reveals emotions on former teammates Chris Olave, Jameson Williams getting drafted with him

At one point, Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave and Jameson Williams were all teammates in the same wide receiver room together at Ohio State – giving the Buckeyes a dominant trio of wideouts who could produce at a high level. Although Williams ultimately transferred to Alabama for the 2021 season, the three receivers built strong relationships with one another while they were teammates in Columbus, and they’ve remained close as they all head to the NFL.
As the 2022 NFL Draft took place last week in Las Vegas, all three wide receivers heard their names called early into the first round. While Wilson went No. 10 overall to the New York Jets, Olave landed with the New Orleans Saints at No. 11 and Williams went No. 12 to the Detroit Lions, the former Ohio State teammates went back-to-back-to-back last Thursday night – making for a very special moment.
During his introductory press conference with the Jets, Wilson shared what it meant to him to be drafted alongside both Olave and Williams.
“I mean, it was crazy,” Wilson said. “All three – me, Chris and Jamo – were all in the same room at one point. To hear my name and my dream coming true, and we talked about this stuff every day. … So, to know that their dreams are coming true and they’re going to different cities, it was just a special moment.

“I’m getting to hug with them after their dream’s coming true, mine’s coming true – it’s a great thing. … That right there changes lives. It was a special moment, and something I’ll cherish for the rest of my life, for sure.”
Wilson (1,058 yards and 12 touchdowns) and Olave (936 and 13) both put together strong seasons for Ohio State in 2021, as they combined for 1,994 yards and 25 touchdowns. For Williams, he tallied 1,572 yards and 15 touchdowns with Alabama.
Now, the former Ohio State teammates are set to begin their NFL careers.
