Ohio State Basketball: John Mobley Jr. commits to Buckeyes
Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman four-star recruit John Mobley Jr. tells On3 he’s committed to Ohio State.
Mobley, a 6-foot-0 class of 2024 point guard, ultimately chose the Buckeyes over Creighton. He also received offers from USC, Xavier, LSU, Arizona State, and others.
He is the first addition to Ohio State’s 2024 recruiting class. In 2023, the Buckeyes’ have landed four commitments. Four-star wing Scotty Middleton (No. 45), four-star forward Devin Royal (No. 46), four-star guard Taison Chatman (No. 47), and three-star center Austin Parks (No. 184) are all pledged for next year.

Mobley is the No. 54 overall prospect in the 2024 class, according to the On3 Consensus, the average ranking from all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 9 point guard and the No. 3 player in the state of Nevada.

“I chose Ohio State because I feel like it fits my game best, along with my relationship with the coaches,” Mobley said to On3.
