Ohio State will break out the all-white uniforms for Saturday’s top-three matchup against Oregon on the road, the team revealed on social media ahead of kickoff.

It’s the fourth time in program history that the Buckeyes are breaking out this icy combination. The last time they used it was against Michigan State in 2020. It’s only fitting they break them out for the fifth time in a first-time ever meeting with Oregon has conference opponents.

Saturday’s meeting is the first matchup between the two programs since the 2021 season. Both rosters looked drastically different as the Anthony Brown Jr. and CJ Verdell-led Ducks downed the Buckeyes 35-28 in Columbus. They have a chance to earn that win back on the road this weekend.

Historically, the Buckeyes and Ducks have met 10 times in history — two of which were in the Rose Bowl (1958, 2010) and one (2015) was for the national championship. The 2021 matchup was the only time the Ducks defeated in Buckeyes in program history.

However, Ohio State will be looking to play spoiler in Eugene on Saturday. Heading into the matchup, Ohio State opened the week as an early 3.5-point favorite over the Ducks on the road. The line remians steady entering game day, meaning the Buckeyes are expected to leave Oregon with a victory between the two College Football Playoff contenders.

If the Ducks can pull it off, the only ranked matchups they have left on the docket ais Oct. 26 against No. 24 Illinois and a road trip to No. 10 Michigan. For the Buckeyes, they not only have to get past the Ducks on the road, but they play No. 7 Penn State, No. 23 Indiana, and, of course, the Wolverines on Nov. 30.

Kickoff between the Ohio State Buckeyes and Oregon Ducks is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET live on both NBC and Peacock as both teams strive to remain undefeated through six games this season.
