Ohio State vs. Penn State score predictions

Ohio State star receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. appears to be a lock to be a first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, and most expect him to be selected in the top 5.

Still, Harrison insists that he’s not thinking about his NFL future at this point.

Instead, Harrison’s only focus is on helping Ohio State reach the College Football Playoff and potentially win a national title.

Harrison is well aware of what is expected of him at the next level, but he’s not thinking about that right now.

“I’m worried about this year and doing the best that I can and finishing out this year helping my team win,” Marvin Harrison Jr. said on The Pat McAfee Show on Friday. “But next year, we’ll see wherever it takes me. Continue to work hard and do the best that I can.”

Harrison had an incredible sophomore season, catching 72 passes for 1,157 yards and 12 touchdowns. He’s off to a strong start in 2023, too, with 31 catches for 604 yards and five scores through the first six games of the season.

Harrison knows that he will soon be playing in the NFL, but he’s not allowing his mind to think about corners he will eventually face off against in the NFL and receivers he will be playing alongside.

“There’s a lot of great corners in the league. I definitely look forward to playing against a lot of them,” Harrison said. “Playing with some great receivers, as well, so I don’t really look at it like that.”

Ryan Day raves about Marvin Harrison Jr.’s work ethic, example for veteran-led Ohio State roster

You can tell that Marvin Harrison Jr. has his full attention on this year’s Ohio State football season by the way he is playing and preparing.

Buckeyes coach Ryan Day spoke about his star receiver on The Pat McAfee Show on Friday.

“You talk about a special young man, he’s special,” Day said. “You know, his work ethic and what he’s done in setting a standard here the last couple of years has been tremendous. I’ve really got to give him a lot of credit. And you know, our whole team.”

Opponents know that Ohio State wants to get the ball to Marvin Harrison Jr., but that doesn’t mean that they can stop him. He has topped the 100-yard mark in four of the past five games.

The Buckeyes have another huge game this weekend as they will host Penn State at Ohio Stadium.

Ryan Day will obviously do everything he can to put his team in a position to win the game, but he feels that the game will ultimately come down to who makes the most plays. He’s glad to have someone like Marvin Harrison Jr. on his side.

“This game is about players. And we have a really good team. We do. Our kids are working hard. They put it in every single week. And so now we’ve gotta go put it on the field on Saturday,” Day said. “But yea, this is a fun team to be around. It’s a veteran team, it’s a gritty team. And we’ve got to go play that way on Saturday. We’ve gotta play angry. We’ve gotta play with an edge to us. Because we know it’s going to go four quarters. That’s the way it’s going to go. … We’ve gotta come out swinging and then play four quarters.”
