Former Alabama offensive lineman Seth McLaughlin has committed to Ohio State, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

McLaughlin is joining the Buckeyes program after starting all 14 games at center for the Crimson Tide in 2023. He entered the transfer portal earlier this week.

The Georgia native will have one year of eligibility remaining.

“I really like the offensive line coach, Coach Frye and trust him to get me to where I want to go as a player,” McLaughlin told Fawcett.

Seth McLaughlin was an every-down starter for the Crimson Tide in 2023, though he became the focus of some negative attention in the College Football Playoff when he struggled snapping the football.

He started 25 games over the course of the last three seasons for the Crimson Tide, emerging as a steady presence on the interior of the offensive line.

Prior to enrolling at Alabama, McLaughlin was a three-star prospect and the No. 441 overall recruit in the nation in the 2020 recruiting class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking.

He checked in as the No. 24 interior offensive lineman in the class and the No. 46 overall player from the state of Georgia, hailing from Buford (GA) Buford.
