Ohio State offensive tackle George Fitzpatrick has entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3’s Pete Nakos confirmed. He spent the past three seasons with the Buckeyes and will have two years of eligibility remaining at his next stop.

The 6-foot-6 lineman arrived in Columbus as a member of the Buckeyes’ 2022 recruiting class. He would go on to redshirt that season before appearing in three games the following year. This past season, Fitzpatrick saw action in 13 contests, including the College Football Playoff quarterfinals against Oregon.

As a recruit, Fitzpatrick was a four-star prospect out of Cherry Creek (CO) High School in the 2022 class. He ranked as the No. 228 overall player and No. 13 offensive tackle in the cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Fitzpatrick is the 10th Ohio State player to enter the transfer portal so far and the third offensive lineman, joining Zen Mikalski and Miles Walker. The Buckeyes have also added five players through the portal so far and rank No. 20 according to On3’s Transfer Portal Team Rankings.

Ohio State is one of four teams currently remaining in the College Football Playoff and will take on Texas in the semifinals at 7:30 p.m. ET on Friday. It’s unclear whether Fitzpatrick will still be with the team for that game.

Ohio State transfer DB Jayden Bonsu signs with Pitt

Ohio State transfer safety Jayden Bonsu signed with Pitt, On3’s Pete Nakos has learned. The former four-star recruit will have three years of eligibility remaining.

Bonsu didn’t appear in a game during his two seasons at Ohio State. He took his redshirt as a freshman, giving him three seasons left to play.

Bonsu played high school football Hillside (N.J.) St. Peters Prep, where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 285 overall player from the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
