Ohio State QB Will Howard injured on hit from Michigan DB Makari Paige

Ohio State QB Will Howard was injured in the second quarter of “The Game” against Michigan on a hit from DB Makari Paige.
While trying to run for a first down, Paige hit Howard in the shoulder area as he was marked shy of the line to gain. Ohio State faced a fourth down.
Howard laid on his back for a few minutes while getting checked out. Devin Brown, Ohio State’s backup QB, warmed up and came into the huddle on 4th and 1. Michigan led 7-3 at the time of the injury.
Once Brown came into the game, RB Quinshon Judkins picked up the first down with a 10-yard run.
Howard went into the blue medical tent and eventually came out upon evaluation, but did not have his helmet on per Lettermen Row’s Spencer Holbrook.
However, Howard would not be denied. The training staff did not give him his helmet back but eventually gave in and Howard sprinted back onto the field while pumping his arms in the air to the Buckeye crowd.
“Well Gus, the latest now, Will Howard has just been given his helmet back,” FOX’s Jenny Taft on the sideline during the broadcast. “He is fired up. Now, let me tell you, the moment he left the field to the medical tent to back out, he was saying, ‘I am fine. I’m good,’ pleading with the medical staff, telling them to hurry up, not concerned.
