Ohio State SG Evan Mahaffey enters NCAA transfer portal

Ohio State shooting guard Evan Mahaffey has entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned. He played two seasons with the Buckeyes after he began his career at Penn State.
Mahaffey averaged 3.6 points, 3.1 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game during his junior year. The 6 foot 6 Cincinnati native played in 32 games for the Buckeyes this past season. However, he made just three starts this season after starting in 35 of his 36 appearances the season before.
Despite this, Mahaffey’s production didn’t taper off despite his role change. Despite becoming a backup for the Buckeyes as a junior, his minutes dipped just four minutes from 22 to 18 from last year. His numbers dropped, but not much as he remained a regular fixture in the Buckeyes’ lineup.
Before college, Mahaffey was unranked in the On3 Industry Rankings, which is a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services. He played for Archbishop Moeller, the same high school attended by Los Angeles Lakers player Jacson Hayes, as well as baseball Hall of Famer, Ken Griffey Jr.

Ohio State center Austin Parks plans to enter NCAA transfer portal
Ohio State center Austin Parks plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, he announced Tuesday evening via X. He will have two years of eligibility remaining at his next stop.
Parks spent the past two seasons with the Buckeyes and appeared in 24 games during that span. That included 15 during the 2024-25 season as he averaged 1.3 points and 0.9 rebounds across 8.4 minutes per game.
“I’d like to thank Ohio State, coach Diebler and every assistant, teammate and fan of the scarlet and gray for allowing me to be a part of this prestigious program over the last two years,” Parks wrote. “I’ve been taught so many life lessons, formed life-long friendships and am forever thankful for my time in Columbus. I am choosing to enter the transfer portal with two years of eligibility remaining, and am looking forward to finding my last stop to call home.”
Parks played high school basketball at St. Mary’s Memorial (OH), where he was a three-star recruit. He ranked as the No. 181 overall player and No. 25 center in the 2023 class according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
