Jordon Davison is at the end of his freshman year and he is closing in on 30 offers. It was a very active spring for the 2025 running back at Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei.

The 6-foot, 205-pound rising sophomore recently added offers from Alabama and Tennessee. Schools like Georgia, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, Penn State, and Ohio State are some of the others that offered this spring.

That offer from the Buckeyes grabbed his attention immediately.

“I was at Ohio State for their spring game when they offered,” Davison said. “It was a big spring and I took a lot of visits, but this one definitely stood out.

“Ohio State was my dream school and they offered me when I was there. I saw the spring game, I saw a lot of the alumni, and the fans were crazy. I can only imagine how it is for a real game, so I can’t wait to get back.”

Davison hopes to get back this summer, then he hopes to return to Columbus in the fall. He got time with running backs coach Tony Alford when he was there in April and the two have started to build a relationship.

“Meeting coach Alford and going to the board with him stood out a lot. He is a great guy, he keeps it real, and he knows how to recruit. Being around him showed me that he cares about people and that he is just real.

“I liked him a lot. He is a great coach who recruits top running backs and I look forward to talking with him more.”

Davison knows about Ohio State’s success with running backs. Two he has watched closely are JK Dobbins and Ezekiel Elliott. It is too early to have a leader, but Davison said Ohio State is “up there” on his list.

He is going to keep visiting schools and working to be the best back he can be.

“I am still a little shocked that I have all the offers that I have,” Davison said. “I wasn’t even worried about recruiting and the offers started coming in.

“It kind of blew up for me this year, but I am not thinking about it. I am staying humble, getting better, and just letting things happen.”
