Chris Olave put together a standout career at Ohio State, there’s no question about it. Tallying 2,711 yards and 35 touchdowns over four seasons with the Buckeyes, Olave has now closed the door on his collegiate career and is ready to take his game to the next level.

Now a projected first-round NFL Draft pick, Olave has the experience and skills needed to become a successful NFL wide receiver – and that’s been made possible by his time at Ohio State. A former On3 Consensus four-star recruit who held a number of scholarship offers coming out of Mission Hills (California) High School, Olave could’ve stayed close to home and played in the Pac-12, but he ultimately made the decision to go to OSU.

Joining The Rich Eisen Show on Monday, Olave explained what factored into his decision to play at Ohio State.

“It was a huge decision for me, but I feel like it was the best decision for me,” Olave said. “I’m glad I went to that school. They had a lot of resources – on and off the field – and just the relationships I created there will last a lifetime. So, I feel like Ohio State was huge on the field and academically, and I feel like it was the best decision for me.”

Following up on the discussion of picking Ohio State, Olave was asked by Eisen who were the top schools he was looking at when he decided to choose the Buckeyes.

“It was a couple of Pac-12 schools,” Olave said. “I was looking at UCLA, Utah, USC – and then Ohio State. … That was my top-four right there. It was a tough decision. I grew up watching the Pac-12 and a huge West Coast fan, but when you’ve got an opportunity to go to a place like Ohio State and play for championships and compete with the best, I feel like it’s a hard one to turn down.”

Olave’s final season at Ohio State was the best of his four years in Columbus, as he put up 936 yards and 13 touchdowns on 65 receptions.
