Ohio State WR commit Jeremiah Smith earns five-star status
Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna Prep five-star wide receiver and Ohio State commit Jeremiah Smith has proven to be one the nation’s top recruits — regardless of position or class.
That was only reaffirmed on Monday, as Smith was ranked as the nation’s No. 1 wide receiver and No. 3 overall prospect in the latest 2024 On300 rankings. He also became one of the 10 five-star recruits in this cycle, per On3.
Smith chose the Buckeyes in December over offers from programs across the country, including Miami, Florida, Alabama, Texas and more. He remains pledged to OSU, even as other teams continue to recruit him.
“I’m feeling great,” Smith told On3 last month. “It’s the school I’d been wanting to commit to since April. When I went up there and visited the third time, I told my dad, ‘When I go up there, I want to commit.’ But coach (Ryan) Day and coach (Brian) Hartline, they were telling me, ‘Take your time. You’re a ’24 kid. Take all your visits.’ So when December came, I was like, ‘I’m gonna go up… I’m gonna just shut it down.’”

Jeremiah Smith Scouting Summary
“Big, skilled receiver with fluidity and savvy for the position. Measured in at 6-foot-3, 185 pounds prior to his junior season. Had a breakout 2021 season, helping his Chaminade-Madonna team to a state championship. Turned in several strong performances, including a big state title game. Polished route-runner at this early stage. Smooth mover with some technical refinement that allows for separation. Shows good ball skills with his ability to track the football over his shoulder. Does not register as a top athlete in the combine setting at this stage. Can further take advantage of his size by continuing to improve his contested catch skills.”
