Paul Finebaum, Heather Dinich lay waste to Alabama resume vs. Ohio State
On Monday morning’s edition of GetUP, college football analysts Paul Finebaum and Heather Dinich joined Mike Greenberg to discuss all things College Football Playoff. Specifically, Greenberg asked the two who should get the nod between Alabama and Ohio State for a playoff spot should it come down to those two programs. To the surprise of many, Finebaum, the SEC Network star, went with the Big Ten team over the Crimson Tide.
“Ohio State. Greenie, they have a significant win on the road against Penn State, which will be a top-10 team this week. What does Alabama have? We know who they’ve lost to. Who have they beaten? How about: Nobody,” Finebaum declared, before explaining who that “nobody” was.
“They won at Texas on the second week of the season when the Texas starting quarterback was out for the final three quarters. And they barely won on a last-second field goal. Their other big win is against Ole Miss, which crashed and burned down the stretch. I don’t think either has more than eight wins. So I think that is going to keep Alabama out, in spite of the name and in spite of Nick Saban.”
Greenberg then asked Dinich, who agreed with Finebaum’s line of thinking.
“I do think Ohio State. And I think it’s because I go back to that win against Notre Dame. I know Notre Dame lost to USC, but that win still carries weight in the room. And that win and the win against Penn State are better than what Alabama has on their resume.”

Also, the Tide have lost two games this season compared to Ohio State’s one, which is a major difference when you’re talking about battling for playoff position, as a two-loss team has never made the field.
There you have it. Paul Finebaum and Heather Dinich are Team Buckeye when it comes to them vs. Alabama for the final CFP bid.
