Ques Glover injury update: Jake Diebler gives latest on Ohio State guard
The Ohio State Buckeyes have been shorthanded, including missing guard Ques Glover since the middle of November as he’s battled an injury. Now, head coach Jake Diebler shared the latest on his injured guard.
Diebler shared that Glover has been progressing recently, though his status as Big Ten play gets underway is still up in the air. The hope is that he will be able to return to practice, though, and get ready to play.
“All the feedback I’ve gotten in the last kind of 24 hours is he’s progressing,” Jake Diebler said. “I don’t know what that means quite yet for practice today and potentially the game on Wednesday, but him and Colin [White], certainly the quicker we can get those two back the better.”
Coming out of high school, Ques Glover went to the Florida Gators. He’d spend two seasons there before transferring to Samford and Kansas State. However, Glover never saw the floor during his time at Kansas State while battling a meniscus injury that he suffered in an exhibition game with the Wildcats.
Ques Glover has played in three games this season, averaging 3.7 points, 0.7 rebounds, and 0.7 assists per game. All of those numbers are down from his career averages in a season where he has averaged 12.3 minutes per game. However, he hasn’t played at all since November 15th, part of the extended injury bug that’s hurting the Buckeyes.

Since he last played in a game, Ohio State has played in four games, going 3-1 in those efforts. That has included three wins by at least 33 points as the offense has scored 90 points or more in their last three efforts.
“I think, also, in the flow of the game, Devin [Royal] sprained an ankle. Evan [Mahaffey] tweaked — it just and then we actually had some guys that weren’t able to fully practice leading into the game,” Diebler said. “We just kind of had that, whatever, bug that’s been going around. We had that hit a few of our guys. So, we watched the film, learned, grew from Pitt. Then, we were able to take a day off and hopefully our numbers will be better for practice today and tomorrow leading into Maryland.”
Ohio State started the season 5-2, all in non-conference play. Those losses came by a single point to a talented Pitt team and against a strong Texas A&M opponent. Now Big Ten play will present its own challenges, starting with Maryland on Wednesday.
