Quinn Ewers announces first NIL deal
Quinn Ewers officially has his first Name, Image and Likeness deal.
The Ohio State quarterback has announced a partnership with Holy Beverages and Hope Squad. The Texas-based drink company was one of the reasons why Ewers decided last week to reclassify to the 2021 recruiting class and enroll early at Ohio State.
Now Ewers has his first deal in hand.
“I may be leaving Texas soon to take it to the next level but I made sure to take the best Texas drink company with me,” he wrote on Twitter. “I am pumped to be representing Holy Beverages for many years ahead so that they will always make sure my fridge is loaded with Holy Tepache and Holy Kombucha.”
The superstar five-star quarterback is expected to arrival at Ohio State any day and enter a Buckeyes quarterback room already littered with competition. He will immediately begin learning the Ohio State playbook months before the original plan and start cashing in on his Name, Image and Likeness.
Ewers was unable to sign any endorsement deals as a high school player because of Texas state law. He is now free to do so, and he could potentially earn seven-figure endorsement deals.
“This is not a financial decision,” Ewers tweeted when he made his decision. “This is about what is best for my football career. At 18, and with one final class about to be completed to earn my high-school degree, I feel it’s time to get the jump on my college career that is available to me. I am eager to start learning from coach Day and the rest of the coaching staff.”

His first NIL endorsement deal is with Holy Beverages. The makers of Holy Kombucha and Holy Tepache, the beverage company has a national partnership with the Hope Squad to bring attention and financial support to the school-based peer-to-peer suicide prevention program.
He has a significantly larger platform now at Ohio State and he is allowed to profit off of his NIL. While Ewers has not arrived yet in Columbus, when he does enter the Buckeyes quarterback room he will be entering a quarterback competition. He won’t be a true contender for the starting job this fall; C.J. Stroud has emerged as the favorite.
Ewers’ talent will eventually show once he has a better understanding of the Ohio State playbook and joins the Buckeyes weight room. In the meantime, he has already begun cashing in on his Name, Image and Likeness.
