WATCH: Rece Davis fires up the Ohio State crowd, Big Ten TV contract be damned
To say College GameDay loves coming to Columbus for Ohio State games would be an understatement.
With the Big Ten creating a new landmark television deal that cuts ESPN out of the picture, there’s been talk about how often the crew would be back on campus in the future. Evidently, Rece Davis — the host of the famed show — isn’t planning on adjusting his future schedule due to some measly television contracts.
Check out an awesome video of Davis below, where he’s firing up a raucous Ohio State crowd and letting the world know his feelings on returning to Columbus in the future.
“If you think some television contract is gonna keep us from coming to the banks of the Olentangy, HELL NO!” exclaimed Davis, as the crowd behind him roared.
If that doesn’t get you pumped up for Week 1 and Notre Dame traveling to take on the Buckeyes, nothing will. Perhaps Rece Davis needs to find his way into some locker rooms this season to give some pregame speeches, because it’s evident the College GameDay host has a knack for it.
More on College GameDay, Jack Harlow performing in Columbus
Moreover, College GameDay has announced their Week 1 guest picker for the highly anticipated Ohio State vs. Notre Dame showdown, and it’s none other than rapper Jack Harlow.

In addition to his time on the desk, Harlow will also perform for the crowd in Columbus. On Sunday, the artist — who released his album Come Home the Kids Miss You in May — revealed the news.
“What’s up y’all, it’s Jack and I’m hyped to let you know that I will be at College GameDay next Saturday in Columbus, and I’m the first guest picker of the season,” revealed Harlow, via a video posted on Twitter. “I’ll see you there.”
Moreover, Harlow is a native of Louisville, Kentucky, so many will question his ties to either Ohio State or Notre Dame. Nevertheless, the musical artist is obviously a huge sports fan, also playing in the NBA Celebrity All Star Game and preparing to star in a remake of the famous basketball movie White Men Can’t Jump.
Jack Harlow will bring the energy to Columbus, but now the question is can he correctly pick some Week 1 winners when pitted against Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard and the great Lee Corso. The fun begins on Saturday, and Harlow will have to bring his best.
