Former NFL star and current Indianapolis Colts wide receivers coach Reggie Wayne knows a thing or two about the position. So, when he compliments Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., you know that he knows what he’s talking about.

That’s part of why Wayne’s almost too obvious comparison for Harrison is so impressive. Reggie Wayne thinks Marvin Harrison Jr. reminds him of Marvin Harrison Sr. It’s a comparison that almost seems too obvious, but an easy one for Wayne to make as he played alongside the Hall of Fame wide receiver in Indianapolis.

“He’s bigger than Marvin,” Wayne told the Indy Star. “He’s tall. He’s faster than Marv.”

It’s really an incredible thing for Wayne to say. Harrison Jr. has better raw tools than his father and he still has another year in college football before he can consider the NFL.

For his part, Marvin Harrison Sr. doesn’t give anyone credit for his son’s ability and future other than his son himself.

“Everyone says, ‘Why is he so good?’ Well, it didn’t happen yesterday. It happens over time,” Harrison Sr. said. “The most credit goes to him. He could just be some guy who thinks he’s better than everyone else and doesn’t work, but it’s the opposite. He’s worked really hard to get to where he is.”

Perhaps, one day, Wayne will be Harrison’s coach in Indianapolis. Of course, whether it’s Indianapolis or somewhere else, it’s obvious Marvin Harrison Jr. is on his way to the NFL. Now, the question is whether or not he can have a better career than his father.

With that being said, Harrison won’t have a Manning throwing to him in the NFL — unless he and Archie hook up in the NFL.

Urban Meyer says Marvin Harrison Jr. is the best in college football

Reggie Wayne isn’t the only one to notice Marvin Harrison Jr. Recently, Urban Meyer appeared on The Hard Count with J.D. PicKell, where he said Harrison is the best player regardless of position in college football.

“I think Marvin Harrison Jr. is the best player in college football, I thought he was last year,” Meyer said.

“You know, he should have been in New York for the Heisman. And when he got hurt in the Georgia game, it changed.”
