When Ohio State holds its Pro Day on Wednesday, Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave will see a familiar face throwing them passes. CJ Stroud is going to throw to them, and Ryan Day spoke on what the 2021 Heisman Trophy finalist can learn from the experience.

Wilson and Olave — Stroud’s top two wide receivers in 2021 — are largely expected to go in the first round of the NFL Draft this year. Day acknowledged how much Pro Day means to draft stock, which is why he thought it’d be important to have Stroud throw in the event.

He also noted what it could mean for Stroud down the road when he eventually participates in Pro Days, especially since former Buckeye standout Cardale Jones will throw on Wednesday, as well.

“I think he wants to be there to help Garrett and Chris and Master [Teague] and Chris Booker will be there, DeMario McCall,” Day told reporters on Tuesday. “That’s the biggest thing is to be there to support his teammates and try to put on a good show. I think part of it [is] we put too much pressure on something like that.

“So I think for him to be out there and help those guys be comfortable is important. Cardale will be out there, as well. They’ve thrown a little bit. But it’s a good opportunity for CJ to go through it and just see what that’s like and feel it so when he’s there next time, he’ll be a maybe little more comfortable.”

Where Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave fall in Mel Kiper’s latest mock draft

ESPN draft expert Mel Kiper released his Mock Draft 3.0 on Tuesday, and Wilson and Olave both fall in the top 20 of his projections.

Kiper now projects Wilson to go to the Atlanta Falcons as the No. 8 overall pick and he has Olave going No. 16 overall to the Philadelphia Eagles via a trade with the Indianapolis Colts. It’s Kiper’s first projection after the NFL Combine.

While quarterbacks get a lot of the attention, the rest of this draft class got seriously shaken up in Kiper’s latest NFL mock. There are new No. 1 and No. 2 overall selections, which caused ripple effects throughout the entirety of the first round. It’s important to note that free agency is far from over, and there are still plenty of changes to be made across the league. But here is Kiper’s latest NFL mock draft.
