3-star RB Sam Williams-Dixon commits to Ohio State
Millersburg (Ohio) Pickerington North three-star running back Sam Williams-Dixon has announced his commitment to Ohio State. He chose the Buckeyes over Kentucky, Penn State, Rutgers and Tennessee.
Williams-Dixon is the No. 656 overall prospect and No. 58 running back in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 24 player in Ohio.
On3 rates Williams-Dixon higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Even though he is not ranked in the 2024 On300, Williams-Dixon is the No. 57 running back in the country.
“It was just a dream come true,” Williams-Dixon told Matt Parker of Lettermen Row on Feb. 24 about having an Ohio State offer and it being one of his top schools. “Just a kid from Ohio getting offered meant a lot to me and my family, and just gave me even more motivation than before.”
The 5-foot-11, 185-pound tailback received his offer from the Buckeyes. He speaks often with running backs coach Tony Alford.

“I’ve felt our relationship grow, you know,” Williams-Dixon said. “We have good talks, bad talks, those hard talks that we need to have.”
Williams-Dixon visited Ohio State on March 7, as well as March 25. He got an opportunity to speak with Alford while in Columbus.

“It was more football talk,” Williams-Dixon told Parker last month. “Instead of about life, it was more football talk and I enjoy talking football with him.
“We were going over game plans, how to game plan, how he prepares players throughout the week, so stuff like that.”
Ohio State continues building its top-three class
Williams-Dixon’s commitment on April 15 was the second of the day for the Buckeyes. Four-star tight end Max LeBlanc committed to the Buckeyes earlier in the afternoon.
With commitments from those players, Ohio State now has 12 commitments in its 2024 class. The Buckeyes’ group currently ranks No. 3 in the 2024 On3 Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 1 in the Big Ten.
Of Ohio State’s pledges, nine have committed this spring, including six over the last two weeks. They include LeBlanc, Williams-Dixon, New Haven (Ind.) five-star wide receiver Mylan Graham, Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes four-star quarterback Air Noland and San Antonio (Texas) Veterans Memorial four-star running back James Peoples and Lucas (Texas) Lovejoy four-star linebacker Payton Pierce.
