With June official visits in the past and the midway point of the recruiting calendar here, On3 has updated its recruiting rankings for the 2025 class. Bellefontaine (Ohio) quarterback and Ohio State commit Tavien St. Clair is the No. 15 overall prospect and a new five-star in the 2025 On300.
The latest edition of On3’s 2024 rankings features 15 five-star prospects, up five from the previous update in April. Of those 15 five-stars, nine are already committed to college programs. Evaluations are far from over as prospects gear up for their senior seasons on the gridiron.
The 6-foot-3.75, 225-pound St. Clair has been committed to the Buckeyes for over a year, as he announced his pledge back on June 21, 2023. His stock has only risen since as he’s now On3’s No. 3 signal-caller this cycle.
St. Clair recently competed at the Elite 11 Finals in Los Angeles and was named an overall top performer by On3’s Charles Power. He helps headline Ohio State’s top-ranked recruiting class in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings as one of three five-stars and one of 11 top-100 prospects overall. St. Clair continues to play recruiter for Ryan Day and the OSU staff.

“Really just showing people that Ohio State is the best place in the country, there’s nothing else like being in Columbus. There’s great people and it’s just a great university,” St. Clair told Lettermen Row in June. “I also think that June is a chance for me to kind of showcase what I’ve been doing. Take some trips like getting to be here in Nashville and I got some other trips planned so I think that’ll just be the main thing is just getting around the country seeing what I can do.”
Scout’s Take on Tavien St. Clair
On3’s Scouting and Rankings team writes this of St. Clair as a prospect:
“Tavien St. Clair is clearly one of the most skilled passers in the 2025 cycle. We were able to see him at the Elite 11 Finals, and he was the biggest quarterback on hand checking in at 6’4 and 225 pounds. He’s ready to go right now from a physical perspective, and he has added a lot of weight over the course of the past year. He’s made strides just overall from his sophomore to junior seasons. He is a smooth, easy passer — one who in the camp setting is able to replicate his motion over and over and throw with really good accuracy, particularly when he’s working within drills. When you look at just his physical ability, his natural mechanics, they project well long-term moving forward. We want to see him to just continue to grow as a player, as a decision maker, and make strides within live settings. Whether that is Friday nights, or 7v7, or in an all-star setting. I think there’s areas for him to continue improving there, but there’s no question he’s a stock up prospect and one of the more talented passers in the 2025 cycle.”
