Ohio State is going to travel home a happy customer, going into West Layfatte and leaving with a convincing win. Not something the program has always been able to do, the Buckeyes were full steam ahead from the moment the ball kicked off. A 41-7 win against Purdue kept the undefeated train running through Week 7.

Following the game, the official Ohio State Athletics X (Twitter) account decided to have some fun by trolling Purdue. They put Brutus the Buckeye on a train, giving him the captain’s hat as well. Ohio State will be riding the Buckeye Express all the way back to Columbus.

Purdue is used to seeing a train in their famous black and gold. But after Saturday’s result, the scarlet and gray are going to reign supreme. A hilarious troll on social media — something that makes college football incredibly fun.

You can check out the full tweet from Ohio State here.

Ohio State has not always been able to go on the road to Purdue and win. Everyone remembers the 2018 matchup in which the Buckeyes laid a complete egg. Ranked No. 2 in the country at the time, it wound up being their only loss of the season but still cost them a spot in the College Football Playoff.

Ohio State cruises in win against Purdue

Following the emotional win against Notre Dame and a bye week, Ohio State has come out firing against two Big Ten opponents. Maryland, and now Purdue, have been on the other end of some solid games from Ryan Day‘s team. These are the type of results we have gotten used to seeing from the Buckeyes in recent years.

Both Kyle McCord and Devin Brown got involved on the offensive end. McCord threw for 286 yards and three touchdowns while being fairly accurate. Brown came in and was involved in a special package before getting a drive of his own in garbage time. He had two total touchdowns, one of which was a 58-yard score to true freshman wide receiver Brandon Inniss.

A good win for Ohio State as a big one awaits for them next week. Notre Dame was a great test for the Buckeyes but facing Penn State will have some serious College Football Playoff implications on the line. Whoever winds up on the losing end will have an uphill climb ahead of them for the rest of the season.
