Urban Meyer states he has 'no interest in coaching again' amid Ryan Day speculation at Ohio State
Former Ohio State head coach and current Fox Sports analyst Urban Meyer has released a statement after Buckeyes fans speculated in recent days that he could possibly return to the sidelines in Columbus.
Meyer has no interest in coaching again, regardless of what happens with Ryan Day and his future at Ohio State, he said in a statement.
Day is under fire after suffering his fourth straight loss to Michigan over the weekend. He has been great overall at Ohio State, but the losses to Michigan have Buckeyes fans unhappy.
You can check out the statement from Urban Meyer about potentially coaching again below:
It’s fair to say that if Day and Ohio State struggle in the College Football Playoff and the two decide to part ways, Urban Meyer will not be taking over the Buckeyes program.
Meyer, who is 60, grew up in Ohio and has never been shy about his love for the Buckeyes. He was the head coach at Ohio State from 2012-18, winning three Big Ten championships and a national title during that time.

The statement from Meyer came after former ESPN SportsCenter anchor Jay Crawford made some interesting comments earlier this week.
On a recent episode of the Ultimate Cleveland Sports Show, Crawford said: “Of the three people that I talked to, two of them with some degree of certainty said yes, he would come back, and, yes, they would ask him back because those are the questions I asked.”
However, Meyer shot down that possibility on Thursday.
“It has come to my attention that there are reports speculating my return to the sidelines in Columbus,” Meyer said. “While I thoroughly enjoyed my seven seasons as head coach at THE Ohio State University, I have no interest in coaching again. I will always be a Buckeye and have full confidence in Ryan Day, his staff, and every player that puts on the Scarlet and Gray.”
