Ravens running back JK Dobbins is finally looking like himself again. The former Ohio State standout missed all of the 2021-22 NFL season after suffering a torn ACL in a preseason game against the Washington Football Team. I’m sure he convinced one of his trainers that he’s back to full strength.

Dobbins went viral yesterday for obliterating one of his trainers during a workout the other day. The poor guy had nothing to defend himself with except one rectangular pad he was holding. Well, Dobbins smashed right into the trainer and sent the pad airborne with a huge hit, which you can see below.

That’s probably what most normal people would look like if they tried to take on an NFL running back with a full head of steam. Poor fella was just trying to help Dobbins out during a workout. Instead he ended up on his backside.

Dobbins re-enters loaded backfield for Ravens

The Ravens were hit hard by the injury bug last fall. They had several starters, including Dobbins, go down for the year before the season even began. They also lost their other primary tailback, Gus Edwards, for the season. Like Dobbins, Edwards also suffered an ACL tear. Just brutal breaks in the running back room.

However, the Ravens enter the next season with a ton of options at running back and few answers as to who should start. Devonta Freeman and Latavius Murray were brought in to replace the pair of guys with torn ACLs and they were the team’s two leading rushers out of the backfield. Baltimore opted not to resign either of them, though, and they’re still free agents as of today.

Instead, they’ll rely on Dobbins and Edwards to come back fully healthy. Dobbins looks the part after that video and reports are that Edwards is progressing well too. The last time both were healthy, during the 2020 season, they combined for over 1500 rushing yards. Dobbins led the way with 805 but Edwards was right there with 723. No running back came close to those numbers this past season.

The Ravens rushing attack as a whole took a step back last year. Obviously losing your two best runners is a knife in the sails. But Baltimore also has the best running quarterback in the NFL with Lamar Jackson. And even he missed several games near the end of the year. When healthy under Jackson, the Ravens are a dominant ground group. They’ll be hoping to get healthy and back to that sort of play in 2022.
