Ohio State defensive tackle Jerron Cage completed a scoop and score for a 57-yard touchdown in Saturday’s game off a fumble from Penn State quarterback Sean Clifford. The 6-foot-2, 305 pound Cage had nothing but green in front of him as he sprinted into the end zone.

The score put the Buckeyes up two possession, though Penn State would kick a field goal to make the score 17-10 at halftime. A winded Cage was seen on the sidelines breathing heavily afterward, but his teammates had his back.

A fifth-year senior from Cincinnati, Cage has spent his entire college career at Ohio State. So far this season he had 2.5 tackles for loss and a sack.

The game is a key one for Ohio State, which is looking to prove it belongs in the College Football Playoff conversation. The Buckeyes suffered a loss to Oregon in Week 2, but are so far 4-0 in conference play.

The Nittany Lions are coming off of back-to-back losses, including one in a nine-overtime game against Illinois. Starting quarterback Will Levis was injured in a game against Iowa, and has struggled since then. At the beginning of the third quarter, he showed no signs of those previous issues, however. He was 22-of-31 for 230 yards and a touchdown.

The Buckeyes have struggled to run the ball against Penn State to this point, with just 19 yards on 12 carries. The Nittany Lions opened the second half with a touchdown drive to tie the game at 17.

Should Ohio State lose this game, it would likely be out of the conversation for the College Football Playoffs. It would also fall behind Michigan State in the Big Ten East after the Spartans took out rival Michigan to become the last standing unbeaten in the conference.

Following this game against Penn State, Ohio State will take on Nebraska next Saturday. A matchup with the Spartans awaits on Nov. 20. Could we see another scoop and score from Jerron Cage in that one?
