WATCH: TreVeyon Henderson sets Ohio State freshman record
Ohio State freshman running back TreVeyon Henderson was one of the highest rated prospects in America coming out of high school. Needless to say, he’s been living up to the hype and then some in his freshman season with the Buckeyes.
So far today against Tulsa, he’s rushed for 243 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 22 carries, setting Ohio State’s single game rushing yardage record with a quarter left to play.
Check out the tweet from On3’s Charles Power.
TreVeyon Henderson is a football phenom
Henderson enrolled at Ohio State in January to get a head start on his college football career. Henderson was rated as the top-running back prospect in America, according to the On3 Class of 2021 rankings.
On3 also rated Henderson as the 20th best overall prospect in the 2021 recruiting class. He’s listed at 5-foot-10-inches, 215-pounds and attended Hopewell High School (Hopewell, Virginia).
He didn’t play his senior season of high school football due to his school moving their season to the spring of 2021.

Loaded Ohio State class of 2021 recruiting class
Henderson was not the only big-time commitment the Buckeyes reeled in the 2021 recruiting cycle. The Buckeyes don’t rebuild, they reload. They also landed the 19th best overall prospect in On3’s class of 2021 rankings, quarterback Kyle McCord out of St. Joseph’s (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania). McCord played at St. Joseph’s with another Buckeyes commitment in the 2021 class, wide receiver Marvin Harrison, Jr.
There’s plenty of other talented prospects in the Buckeyes‘ 2021 class.
