2024 4-star QB Michael Hawkins offered by Oklahoma

2024 Allen (Texas) four-star quarterback Michael Hawkins received an offer from Oklahoma Wednesday night. He announced the news on social media.

Hawkins is a 6-foot-1, 185 pound signal caller who is ranked the No. 197 overall prospect and No. 15 quarterback in the 2024 On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 32 player in Texas.

Hawkins scheduled an unofficial visit to Norman for today earlier this week. He went into the visit as one of the rising quarterbacks in the 2024 class and had seven offers. Now he has eight thanks to the Sooners. Other schools who have offered Hawkins include Alabama, Michigan and NC State.

The quarterback wasn’t Oklahoma’s only offer of the night. The Sooners also extended offers to McKinney (Texas) four-star cornerback Xavier Filsaime, Richmond (Va.) cornerback Terrance Edwards, Decatur (Texas) three-star running back Nate Palmer and 2025 Lucas (Tex.) Lovejoy wide receiver Daylan McCutcheon.

Oklahoma’s 2024 recruiting class does not currently include any commitments. However, the Sooners’ 2023 group has 17 commitments and ranks No. 10 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings.

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Oklahoma has a commanding lead to land Hawkins’ commitment at 60.9%. The Crimson Tide have the second-best odds at 27.9%.

The RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college. 

It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.

Hawkins has an On3 NIL Valuation of $19.1K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
