3-star QB Brendan Zurbrugg flips from Northwestern to Oklahoma
Alliance (Ohio) three-star quarterback Brendan Zurbrugg has has flipped his commitment from Northwestern to Oklahoma. He announced the news on Twitter.
Zurbrugg had been committed to Oklahoma since June 26. He also become Oklahoma’s second quarterback commit in its 2024 class. McKinney (Texas) Frisco Emerson four-star quarterback Michael Hawkins has been committed to Oklahoma since April 8.
The 6-foot-3, 180-pound signal-caller is the No. 1,159 overall prospect and No. 65 quarterback in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 45 player in Ohio.
Zurbrugg’s commitment comes a few days after he was on campus for Oklahoma’s Party at the Palace.
“I couldn’t turn down an opportunity to play for Oklahoma,” Zurbrugg told On3. “One of the most important things was getting to know the coaching staff. The competitiveness and will to win while also caring about their players is extraordinary. The coaching staff is as good as it gets, they are great coaches and great people.

Zurbrugg currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $23K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

With his commitment, Oklahoma now has 18 pledges in its 2024 class. That group ranks as the No. 16 class in the country and No. 8 class in the SEC.
