Class of 2024 cornerback Devon Jordan of Tulsa (OK) Union High announced his commitment to Oklahoma Friday afternoon.

The 6-foot, 170 pounder chose the Sooners over Alabama, TCU, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma State.

“It’s a feeling that I get with them that I don’t get with any other school. One thing I always say is that I believe in people who believe in me, and they believe in me more than anyone else. Coach Venables is also a defensive coach which is good for me. The defense for my class coach Venables is bringing in is crazy so I can’t help but to be a part of that. I also want to help them go into the SEC and represent my state.”

His relationship with the coaching staff and their plan for him played a role in his decision as well.

“I have a great relationship with coach Valai, he’s my guy,” Jordan said. “He calls me and tells me daily how good I am on and off the field and how I can improve and get better at the game. I feel like he is going to help me become a great man and a future husband. Coach Venables is like no other head coach man, he communicates with me more than any other head coach. He already treats me like I’ve been a part of the team. But my guy coach Hall is the real man. It all started off with him because he’s the one that recruited me and believed me so I give all thanks to that man right there.”

The Sooner State cornerback joins coach Brent Venables and the Sooners’ Top 10 class in the 2024 team rankings. He is accompanied by five-star defensive lineman David Stone, four-star running back Taylor Tatum, and others.
