Deion Burks injury update: Oklahoma WR's status revealed on final injury report vs. South Carolina
Oklahoma hosts South Carolina during Week 8, looking to bounce back against the Gamecocks after last week’s loss in the Red River Rivalry.
Ahead of kickoff, the final injury report has been revealed — including the final injury designation of wide receiver Deion Burks.
Both teams have revealed their final reports:
Oklahoma:
- WR Jayden Gibson–Out
- WR Jalil Farooq–Out
- WR Nic Anderson–Out
- WR Andrel Anthony–Out
- DB Gentry Williams–Out
- DB Kendel Dolby–Out
- OL Geirean Hatchett–Out
- TE Kade McIntyre–Out
- RB Sam Franklin–Out
- WR Deion Burks–Game Time Decision
South Carolina:
- WR Jared Brown–Out
- DB Jalewis Solomon–Out
- DB Kelvin Hunter–Out
- OL Jakai Moore–Out
- DT DeAndre Jules–Out
Deion Burks came to Oklahoma with the expectation that he would have a massive impact on the Sooners’ offense this season. However, he’s only been able to play in four games this season, with his last game coming in September against Tennessee. There, he suffered a “soft tissue” injury. Still, he has 26 receptions for 201 yards and three touchdowns. Those all lead the team.
Oklahoma is also listing multiple defensive backs and a defensive lineman as being out for this game. Meaning, the Sooners’ depth is going to be tested across the board.

That includes a 31-point loss to rival Texas in their last time out while only scoring three points. Meanwhile, South Carolina lost a heartbreaking game to Alabama. With that, the Gamecocks fell to 3-3 on the season and just 1-3 in SEC play.
