A week after trekking to Alabama, Jefferson (Ga.) linebacker Sammy Brown, one of the country’s top 2024 prospects, is visiting Oklahoma today.

The 6-foot-2, 215-pounder is the No. 11 overall prospect in the 2024 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also ranks as the nation’s No. 2 linebacker and the No. 3 sophomore prospect in Georgia.

Sammy Brown drawing heavy national interest

Brown picked up an offer on his visit from the Crimson Tide, who joined an already long list of programs around the country who have done so. Georgia, Clemson, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Tennessee and Oklahoma are just a handful of the schools already involved in his recruitment. His spring has been a busy one, with visits to Georgia (March 1), Tennessee (March 5), and Clemson (March 12) already completed. He is also expected to see Ohio State next weekend

Brown plays on both sides of the ball for Jefferson — linebacker on defense and running back on offense. In seven games as a junior, Brown rushed for 753 yards and 11 touchdowns. He also had 35 tackles and a sack.

He is a state champion wrestler that also shines in track field including a 10.92 100-meter dash, a 50.50 time in the 400m dash and a 21-foot plus long jump as a freshman last year.

Georgia looks to be leader in the early stages of his recruitment, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM). It gives the Bulldogs a 40.4 percent chance of landing him, with Tennessee, Ohio State and Clemson among the schools behind. He was the Tigers’ first offer to any 2024 prospect, and he has built a strong relationship with head coach Dabo Swinney.

Oklahoma, though, could be a dark horse contender due to his relationship with Sooners head coach Brent Venables, who was previously at Clemson.
